Large Bourbon Barrel Butcher Block
Some cutting boards are made from lumber. This one is made from history.
Each Large Bourbon Barrel Butcher Block is hand-cut and assembled by Josh at JK Woodworking in Ada, Michigan, using white oak staves reclaimed from genuine bourbon barrels. White oak is the wood of choice for bourbon aging — its tight grain and natural vanillin compounds are what give whiskey its color and complexity. After years in the barrel, those staves carry the warmth, character, and story of that process into your kitchen.
At 16" x 12" with a durable end-grain butcher block construction, this board is as functional as it is striking. The end-grain surface is naturally self-healing — knife marks close back up over time — making it one of the most resilient cutting surfaces you can own.
